Hey, after some chastising by Michelle McMahon on Spin Fm, i've decided to update this blog. So in the last 2 weeks, we've had to cancel a gig in Galway, worked on some groovy new stuff at practice and been interviewed, played on and been played on Limerick based Spin Fm. Great shtuff (except having to cancel the gig in Galway of course. The Galway gig was one of those things that felt like it was just not DESTINED TO BE!!! Which was super frustrating considering how awesome a guy Hansie of Blue2Black Galway is, but everything just went wrong. The car wouldnt start, one of our mates who could have driven us was gone to cork and the last guy's car for some reason couldnt take the weight of all the gear and us. HORRIBLE! However during the week, at practice we have really honed our new secret song, The Organ Grinder. This song is one that is literally gonna blow you away, and i dont feel ashamed or egocentric about saying that, it really is just a savage song. Then on Saturday we got probably our biggest break to date, we were on Spin Fm speaking to Michelle McMahon about Great Friday 08, the limerick music scene (which was taken up completely wrong!!! We're not part of the Limerick Cliques we are the Anti-Clique :) Sorry Michelle) and the e.p. It was great fun, Andru drew on me and Michelle was just... put simply... an absolute LEGEND!!!! Her knowing of this page terrified me. We had Nerves played on air as well as playing a new funky rendition of Born Again on it. Will put the full Interview up in the coming weeks. My newest update is the old Welcome to Verfield Intro that was meant to be on the first e.p. It is meant to be used by closing your eyes and imagining your walking through an old terrifying house. ENJOY FOLKS.
PADDYBASS - Sunday 2nd of March
Hey everyone how we doing. PaddyBass here with my weekly blog. Well this week we played in a small bar in Tipp Town, with our close mates Qazi Qazi Khan and another band who go by the name of "The Dangerous Lives Of Alter Boys". All in all it was a great gig, "Dangerous Lives" went on first and blew us all away with a phenomonal 25 minute show, made even more amazing by the fact that the bassist playing with them has been only with them, 2 weeks!!! Whoa! So yeah, we talked to them after the gig and we're arranging a couple of more gigs down the line so looking forward to them. Then we went on, playing to a horde of Tipperary folk. We played, In my opinion, a fantasmal show. However being outsiders to Tipperary, we werent really feeling the love. In saying that we made more than a few fans on the night, not the least of which was this crazy polish girl who just went buck wild for our entire set. As our first gig back after Xmas this was a great show and hopefully, things can only get better. Then on went Qazi who blew everyone away as per usual, with each member reminding everyone of why we try to attend all their gigs. I kept up the tradition of making a disgrace of myself on stage with the band for their epic "Inquest of Captain Scarlet", and although i didnt give the same "Performance" as Dave Behan from Lost Highway down in Zoo, I think I was nuts enough all the same. Anyways more recording tomorrow so hopefully should have the finished tracks off the e.p in a couple of weeks, So dont forget if your interested in Verfield material, are involved with management or a record label, or just think we rock a bit :) send us a message and we'll be sure to respond. A few more pictures and tracks up so check 'em out if you get a chance!
Peace Out All,
PaddyBass
How we doing all, Paddy from Verfield here commencing the first of my sunday blogs. Well, things are going pretty good for us at the moment, we ended last year with the Stolen Hammer Tour, which was great craic and brought us into contact with two of our newly favorite Irish bands, Qazi Qazi Khan and Lost Highway. Hoping to do an interview in the next week or two to throw up on the blog, with information about tour dates, the new e,p, our plans for the mighty 2008 and more. Will be throwing up some more pics and tracks and such as the week goes on, and I'll be back next Sunday with plenty of information regarding songs, videos, gigs and more.
Peace out,
Paddy Bass
